DIRECTIONS FOR USE:

BONA PACIFIC HIGH BUILD Waterborne Sealer is specially formulated for use with BonaKemi's waterborne finishing systems. BONA PACIFIC HIGH BUILD seals the wood, minimizes grain raise, provides a high build layer with elasticity, and prevents the finish from penetrating into the wood surface. BONA PACIFIC HIGH BUILD is intended for use over natural and stained floors. BONA PACIFIC HIGH BUILD is non-yellowing, fast drying, and cleans up easily with water. NOTE: THE USE OF BONA PACIFIC HIGH BUILD MINIMIZES THE POSSIBILITY OF SIDEBONDING. BONA PACIFIC HIGH BUILD is compatible with and will adhere to most hardwood floor stains after proper preparation and dry times. ALWAYS PREPARE A TEST OR SAMPLE AREA TO DETERMINE COMPATIBILITY.

PREPARATION:

SANDING AND FINISHING NEW FLOORS 1. Sand floor using NOFMA-accepted methods. 2. For a neutral or stained floor, make your final cut with 80-grit paper and screen with 80-100-grit screen. Apply BONA WOODLINE DS-STAIN. For an unstained, natural floor, make your final cut with 100-grit paper and screen to 150 grit. This burnishing will reduce the amount of grain raise. 3. Vacuum thoroughly. 4. Tack with slightly water-dampened cloth. 5. Apply sealer and finish system (see finish directions).

THE PACIFIC HIGH BUILD SEALER/FINISH SYSTEM IS A 3-COAT SYSTEM:

1 coat BONA PACIFIC HIGH BUILD
2 coats of a BONA Brand Waterborne Finish. Adding a third coat of finish is recommended in high traffic commercial and residential areas.

NOTE: Use a clean applicator for sealer and a separate clean applicator for finish.

SEALING: SHAKE GENTLY BEFORE USING. 1. Using a plastic pour can, pour a 4" wide line of BONA PACIFIC HIGH BUILD along the starting wall. Go with the grain of the wood. 2. Using a clean, pre-dampened applicator, draw the applicator forward, with the grain of the wood, moving BONA PACIFIC HIGH BUILD toward the adjacent wall. Holding the applicator at a "snowplow" angle will maintain a wet edge at all times. 3. At the end of each stroke, turn the applicator toward you and pad out the applicator parallel to the wet edge. 4. Feather all turns. If pushed too hard or too fast, drips will fly off the applicator. 5. Missed areas can be touched up if seen right away. 6. To prevent lapping and dry marks, be sure you are using the recommended coverage. Be careful not to spread BONA PACIFIC HIGH BUILD too thin. Your coverage should be approximately 500-600 sq. ft. per gallon. 7. Allow BONA PACIFIC HIGH BUILD to dry 1-2 hours before applying a Bona Brand Waterborne Finish.

INTERCOAT ABRASION: Abrading between finish coats is not necessary for adhesion. However, for smoothest floor results, buff the sealer coat with a Bona CPS4000 All Purpose Pad with the Bona CPS Green Strip. Prior to applying the final finish coat, buff with the Bona CPS4000 All Purpose Pad. Always thoroughly vacuum and tack with a slightly water-dampened cloth after buffing.

CLEAN-UP: Tools should be cleaned with water and stored in the Bona Applicator Storage Canister.
